One of the women in my office, cuts off her long brown hair so she can donate it to Locks of Love.
One of the women in my office cut off all her hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Now, she’s hoping to regrow it stronger and healthier than ever.
That’s the non-profit charity just down the street from my office here in Royal Palm Beach, FL. They create high-quality natural wigs for children who have lost their own hair because of cancer or any other medical condition.
Jaclyn donates her hair to honor the grandmother who raised her… and who passed away from cancer 10 years ago.
“My grandmother was one of the most important people in my life. We had the same kind of long, thick hair and always went to get it styled together,” Jaclyn told me.
“It was hard to watch her cut it all off before chemo stole it from her.
“I can’t imagine what it’s like for a child to go through that and lose their hair.”
Now that her hair is short, Jaclyn told me she wants to focus on making it healthier than ever. She’s getting married one year from now. And she wants “the perfect ‘do for my wedding day.”
I told Jaclyn the same thing I tell my patients at the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging Medicine. Growing incredible hair isn’t about using an expensive moisturizing shampoo or applying a high-priced protein mask.
These products won’t work because your hair is no longer alive.
In order to have thick, healthy, beautiful hair you have to get to the root of the problem and stimulate your follicles…
In my clinic, I do this by using PRP stem cell therapy. It’s a fast, natural way to help my patients wake up sleeping stem cells to regrow thick, healthy hair quickly and naturally.
As you know, stem cells are your master cells. They are the basic building blocks of your entire body. They turn themselves into any other kind of human cell. That includes cells that build your heart muscle, blood, liver and nerves. They even turn into hair follicle cells. In fact, a small group of stem cells can reproduce many times to generate billions of hair cells.
Studies prove stem cell therapy with PRP is so effective it can even reverse baldness. In a recent study of patients suffering from thinning and balding, 82% of patients reported significant hair growth and recovery following PRP therapy.
And not only did hair loss slow down dramatically, their hair thickness increased by 31%.1
PRP uses platelets and growth factors to heal every part of your body. Platelets are the colorless blood cells that help your blood clot. They contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors that regenerate injured areas, including the follicles on your scalp. I’ve used this therapy to help my patients heal from surgery, relieve joint and back pain, and revive sagging skin.
Your body’s biggest supply of stem cells is stored in your own fat tissue. For hair regrowth, I harvest these stem cells from fat in your abdomen. They are then spun in a centrifuge to separate the stem cells from the fat tissue. I take this rich supply of stem cells and use it in the PRP process.
I inject stem cells into the scalp with two to six PRP injections. Right away, the stem cells start waking up hair follicles. They start regenerating. Soon they’re producing healthy, stronger hair.
The whole session only takes a couple of hours. You only need a local anesthetic where I take the stem cells. You have no downtime. There’s no risk of rejection because we use your own stem cells. And the effects are fast and lasting.

But stem cell therapy wasn’t the only treatment I recommended to Jaclyn. I also suggested that she massage her scalp daily with a mixture of fenugreek seed and coconut oil.
I’ve recommended fenugreek seed (Trigonella foenum-graecum) to my hair loss patients for years. The seeds of this common Indian spice contain a form of niacin (vitamin B3) called nicotinic acid.
Niacin is a vasodilator, which means it increases blood flow to your hair roots. In one study, 60 women with severely thinning hair were told to apply either niacin or a placebo to their scalp. After six months, the niacin group had a significant increase in hair fullness compared to the placebo group.2
Massaging your scalp is an age-old practice for increasing hair growth around the world. It works by increasing blood flow directly to your hair follicles. A recent study proves its benefits.
In this study, nine people received a scalp massage on half their head every day for four minutes. After 24 weeks, the massaged area showed a significant increase in hair thickness.3
Easy Scalp Massage Improves Hair Growth
When you combine the scalp massage with fenugreek seed, you deliver a one-two punch to hair loss. Here’s what you do:
Directions:
- Mix 2 tablespoons fenugreek seed powder with 4 tablespoons coconut oil to form a paste.
- Divide your hair into three or four sections. Apply the mixture to your scalp.
- Rub the paste in small, vigorous circles using the tips of your fingers for at least a few minutes per section. This promotes blood circulation to the scalp.
- Rinse and repeat this two to three times a week.
In several weeks you should notice new hair growth.
