For years, researchers were aware of the link between menopause and hearing loss. But they were convinced too little estrogen was the cause.
It turns out,the opposite is true.
Researchers gave a series of hearing tests to post-menopausal women. Half were on hormone replacement therapy. Compared to the control group, the HRT-treated women performed up to 30% worse on a series of three hearing tests.1 They had the most trouble in situations where there was background noise, like in a busy restaurant.
And the longer you stay on hormone replacement therapy, the greater chance you have of losing your hearing. Women on HRT for a decade or more have a 21% increased risk of losing their hearing.2
Today’s world is flooded with fake estrogens from our polluted environment. When these estrogen mimickers — I call them alien estrogens — get into your bloodstream, they attach themselves to your estrogen receptors.
In response, your body’s estrogen levels shoot through the roof. This destroys the delicate balance of estrogen and progesterone in your body.
These elevated levels of estrogen cause swelling around the Eustachian tube, or middle ear. This leads to both hearing loss and loss of balance.3
Today you can find fake estrogens in your food, laundry detergents, deodorants, plastics, perfumes, pesticides — even the cash register receipt the store clerk hands you. They’re even in the air you breathe.
The last thing you want to do is add more fake estrogen in the form of HRT.
In my practice, I bring my patients’ estrogen and progesterone levels back in balance with bioidentical hormones. I’ve never seen anything but positive results. My patients tell me they feel better instantly.
Bioidentical hormones made from plant sources and are an exact replica of what’s missing from your body. They’re not synthetic imposters. Your body naturally and easily responds to them.
I’ve treated hundreds of patients with bioidenticals. I’ve never had anything but positive results. My patients tell me they feel better almost instantly and without any side effects.
The great thing about bioidenticals is that they are custom-made for you. A doctor will measure your hormone levels. Then a compounding pharmacist prepares a customized prescription that meets your unique needs.
If you’re interested in learning about bioidentical hormone replacement, please call my staff at 561-784-7852. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
In the meantime, you can treat your menopause symptoms naturally.
Herbs That Balance Your Hormones Naturally
1. Supplement with Dong Quai. This Asian herb contains natural plant estrogens called phytoestrogens. They work by sitting on estrogen receptor sites in your body. They block strong estrogens if your levels are too high. Or they provide a gentle estrogen boost if your levels are low. Dong Quai can also increase your libido.
I recommend 500 mg in tablet form, twice a day.
2. Balance yourself with Black Cohosh. Black Cohosh works to normalize your hormones. Studies show it can be nearly as effective as HRT to reduce hot flashes, night sweats, depression and anxiety.4
I recommend 250 mg three times a day.
